Brian Meissen was elected to Village President in November 2022 after serving on Village Council as a Trustee since 2017. He previously served as the Liaison to the Planning Commission and on the Village's 150th Celebration Committee. Currently, he serves on the Village's Streets Committee, Police Committee, and Lenox Township's Parks & Recreation Committee.
Brian's full-time job is working as a quality manager for one of the Big 3 automakers. Prior to his current role, Brian worked as a cyber security auditor and systems administrator. Brian graduated from Baker College of Auburn Hills with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Brian's past certifications include Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified SAFe 5 Agilist, Citizen Planner, and an Asset Management Champion. Brian is currently working on getting his ASQ - Certified Manager of Quality / Operational Excellence certification.
For the past two decades, Brian has spent much of his spare time bringing people together. In 2005, he started a Camaro and Firebird club, which quickly became, and remains to be, the state's largest annual Camaro and Firebird car show. Brian was previously on his subdivision's HOA board for 6 years and dedicated his time there to making the HOA a fun community with numerous family-friendly events and opportunities to socialize. If there's one thing most people know about Brian, it's that he is very active on social media community groups trying to help answer questions, promote community events, and promote New Haven.
As a self-proclaimed IT nerd, Brian hopes to move the Village forward with new technology to make interacting with our local government easier and more transparent.
